So today we went crazy in library and canteen. Kicked out from library, we went to canteen to terrorize the place with our allegedly super loud shoutings. It all comes back to one enzyme for the vigorous reactions: Pictionary!

Then we went for Physics which left us with 45 minutes in the end so we played poker using masses as chips. Needless to say, I dominated and ended up as the winner of the day ^^

After a chaotic Chem practicals, which was fun actually, I don't really know what happened then somehow we took this Nan Quan Mama (Brunei version) cover pic.

But seriously, it was super fun today. In fact it has been a long time Chinatown had fun in the school so yea. Kinda special loh today.

First day 20/3 Friday

After registration the people were divided into 12 groups, then there were groups creating their group names and banners and cheers.

Then that noon do what le ah? Forgot! OMG! Oh ya they all set up tents and decorated their own tents.

Then night I think they play Latihan Dalam Kumpulan (LDK) if tak salah. OMG I FORGOT FIRST DAY STUFFS!!!! Oh ya it was the guy talking about brains and personalities from numbers and cincin magic one. Then after that do Dance for Life and sang!!!! ^^ )That was like, the most fun for AJKs? cuz we not allowed to join anything D= ) Then after that slept...

Second Day 21/3 Saturday

...until next morning they all went to the polis thingie. I didn't go so I dunno anything, but heard there was a marching under the sun cuz when everyone got back at 4pm they were all dark/red/burnt. I knew there was marching, then at least they got to shoot smoke grenades. Just for you all info, while kamu marching in semi-hell, most of the AJKs were kerjaing back in school, while I played cards and slept xP

That night went for BSB Rendervous for a treasure hunt like thingi. I got a camera from Kuo Hern so had to do his job of stalking a team and video them throughout the night. Anyway, after balik, they all went to sleep lah.

Third Day 22/3 Sunday

The next morning went Shahbandar. I was checkpoint 11, the pipeholes checkpoint. hope they all had fun climbing the stairs. (P.S all those who got the answer wrong, it's 80-83 xP but the teams that got it wrong got extra marks for focus on task cuz u all so semangat discuss and plan the dances. it was totally useless btw. dun even nid to dance in fact. it was just to delay xP AND YES HEAN AND ZHI, RIGHT SIDE ONLY LAH!!!!!)

and then went back, noon, they all did cooking for survival. Most groups had problem menyalakan api I think (except Din's group duhhhh). That one AJKs could have join u know. Instead, we sit aside trying to stay awake.

Then night was the peak lah. ASIAN Cultural Night (Sorry the backdrop banner I sticked the A of ASIAN too high xP cacat a bit. but of course, you all were too excited and busy to notice nyehhehhehhehhehheh =P) then lepas all the 'wonderful' performances (consisting of many accidents and technical problems and lots of dramas storylines yang blur blur) all went to audi for the recall thingi. Then after that went to sleep again...

Last Day 23/3 Monday

Everyone went to Muara Beach ah. I missed all the fun there. Reviews commented it to be better than Shahbandar! 0.o I stayed back to supposedly help AJK Siwai with the AV but in the end DotAed and arranged chairs in audi pula. So I took the opportunity to scan the walls of envelopes and dropped messages for whoever I felt like to. Those near the piano, sorry missed you all out. Tak sempat finish all because the teachers call me to carry tons of chairs ah.

Then noon start was the closing ceremony after they came back. I bet most of them didn't shower xP ewwwwwww... but neither did I. Last day liao ah. So lazy ;p

The closing ceremony went well and great and fun, then after that sign them out, let them take the begs, then WENT HOME!!!

Reach home showered, onlined, ate pizza then was planning to continue breaking record de, but in the end, 8+pm liddat finally fell asleep. (thanks bro for shutting down my lappy <3) In the end, concluded that my new record is 40 hours without sleep D= self-inflicted touture!

Last Day +1 24/3 Tuesday

12.02pm TING TING TING TING DING TING THING TING THING!!!! Ringtone sounded and woke me up. From Hui Yi. She slept for 16 hours! That's 2 thirds of the day gone? Lol. My sis Jaqi slept till 5+pm.

I am back from Kem Qiadah just an hour ago.

I am typing this half-consciously. You will know the reason at the end of this post.

On Friday morning, I woke up at 5.30am then fast fast left home. Drove the car quite slowly, but it still drives my mom quarter-mad. Reach school, around 6.30am, I started to take registration for the Kempers. Then all were registered, they were ................. (Sorry I lazy to describe what happened after this. I am feeling dizzy already. Anyway, let's talk about the extreme)

22/3 3am - Woke up, make breakfast.
22/3 7am - Went to Shahbandar and climbed a few couples of hills.
22/3 12pm - Returned to school, played cards.
22/3 5pm - Do the preparation for ASIAN Cultural Night
22/3 11pm - Group games, recall session.
23/3 1am - Played cards lagi
23/3 3am - Played basketball
23/3 5am - Made breakfast.
23/3 7am-12pm - DotAed in Conference Room, then went to Auditorium carried and arranged the chairs.
23/3 12pm - Closing Ceremony
23/3 5pm - Sign out from Kem Qiadah
23/3 7pm - Type this blog.

Between 22/3 3am to 23/3 7pm is 40 hours. That's how long I have stayed awake, that's why I am sooooooooo sleepy now!!!!!!

Urghhhhh...

I will tell more about Kem tomorrow when I wake up. I am giving up le. Pizza is here so yea, eat then sleep!!!!! xDxDxD

Hotel 626, an advergame created to promote Doritos snacks, is an amazingly innovative, beautifully-produced nightmare of a game. After "checking in" (giving the website your name, email and creating a password), you are immediately whisked away into the opening movie: your awakening, in the middle of the night, in your room at this hellish hotel. Strange noises echo in the distance. Your breath quickens, your heart pounds, and some animal instinct screams that you need to get out. You throw on your shirt, dash into the hallway, and then the real game begins.

Although the game is available to play between the hours of 6PM and 6AM only, you can change your computer clock to let you in immediately.

The journey through the hotel is comprised of ten levels, each of which involves its own creepy, unique task or puzzle. Some are extremely simple: locating the correct door, for example. Others involve more complex undertakings, such as figuring out a code or snapping a picture of a ghost's face. None, to be honest, are objectively very difficult or intellectually taxing. What you're really playing against is your own adrenaline, and the knowledge that if you mess up/take too long you're bound to meet a rather unfortunate end. And that, really, can be far tougher to overcome than any MENSA riddle. Luckily, if you do fail and die, the hotel is magnanimous to offer you the chance to either try it again or move on to the next level.

One impressive measure of the game's creativity is the lengths that it goes to create a sense of immersion in the scenario. At the beginning, while registering, you are given the option to allow access to your computer's webcam and microphone; if you do so, both those elements will be used in later levels. Also, near the end of the game, players in the United States can enter their phone numbers and receive a kah-reepy call from a "friend." Finally, as the name of the game implies, the Hotel is only "open" (accessible) from 6 PM to 6 AM, the better to set the spooky stage. However, for those of us who are impatient (me) or too chicken to play the game in the dark (also me), you can easily cheat by changing the time on your computer.

Of all the unanswered questions posed by this enigmatic hotel, perhaps the greatest mystery of all is how any of this relates in the slightest to Doritos (least relevant piece of viral advertising ever?). Still...I don't really care. Hotel 626 is superb, with wonderful visuals and audio, and manages to approximate the fear of such a situation (so far as I can imagine) better than any other online game I've come across. Heck, if it'll encourage them to make more of these, I'll go out and buy a bag of fake-cheddar-cheese-flavored corn chips right now!

So far this year I've done well.

I haven't gossiped, I haven't lost my temper, I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or overindulgent. I'm very thankful for that. But in a few minutes, Lord, I'm going to get out of bed, and from then on I'm probably going to need a lot more help.

And those new year resolutions of mine related to ICT:

1) I will try to figure out why I "really" need 9 e-mail addresses.

2) I will stop instant messaging with my siblings. Talking directly will be appreciated.

3) I will stop going paranoid just because I failed to send those chain mails in less than the time it required.

4) I will stop sending e-mails, friendster comments, Instant Messages and smses at the same time with the same person.

5) I resolve to back up my 40GB hard drive daily...well, once a week...okay, monthly then...or maybe... at least once a year.

6) I will spend less than one hour a day on the Internet - This, of course, will be hard to estimate since I'm not a clock watcher.

7) I will stop checking my e-mail at 3:00 in the morning... 4:30 is much more practical since my friends overseas already had time to answer me by then.

8) When I hear a funny joke, I will not reply, "lol!" followed by a "HAHAHA"

9) I will read the manual... just as soon as I can find it.

10) I will think of a password other than "password."

hahaha. The title said it all. I played tennis at Stadium tennis court just now, with Jazmi, Ibnu and Halim.

It's the bestest most fun tennis session we ever had, because everyone was able to return serves! lol

For super-dog Bolt, every day is filled with adventure, danger and intrigue - at least until the cameras stop rolling. When the canine star of a hit TV show is accidentally shipped from his Hollywood soundstage to New York City, he begins his biggest adventure yet - a cross-country journey through the real world. Armed only with the delusions that all his amazing feats and powers are real, and with the help of two unlikely traveling companions - a jaded, abandoned housecat named Mittens and TV-obsessed hamster in a plastic ball named Rhino - Bolt discovers he doesn't need superpowers to be a hero

John Travolta voiced for Bolt while Miley Cyrus for Penny, Bolt's 'Person'.

It's an comedy-action computer-animated film. Bolt is a celebrity dog who stars in a TV show where he faced dangers everyday and use his superpower to defeat his enemies who always attempt to harm Penny. The catch is, all this is performed in a studio where Bolt thinks it is all real. Truth is, it's not! So when he accidentally got shipped across US, he will have to try to fight the way back, all while discovering that he is not a super-dog after all. Bolt is further assisted by 2 addition to his team: Minnet the Cat, who is mistaken to know the way back to Hollywood, and Rhino the Hamster, Bolt's biggest fan.

The storyline is good. In fact, there are some touchy parts that rendered some people in the theater asking for tissues to wipe their tears. This is combined with a bit of humour at the right time. Bolt is, after all, unarguably CUTE =P However, the chance of this film surpassing Shrek or any of its sequels is too slim.

Today, 3 girls of the Brunei National Synchronized Swimming Team departed for Kuala Lumpur at 11.30am to compete in a competition organized by Malaysia from 9th to 14th December 2008. It is to take place at Seremban, Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia. The 3 girls are Jacqueline, Phoebe and Hafizah, and they are led by Coach Eva Wong.

OGDC Rubik's Cube Challenge and EuroEnglish

It was the OGDC Rubik's Cube Challenge at the Amphitheatre of OGDC Seria this afternoon. I was one of the finalist to make it to the final. There was supposed 8 in total, but Hanafi didn't come. So we became 7, hence the plan to do 1-vs-1 face off was dropped. I got NUMBER 3!!!! from the bottom of the ranking xP =(

So today, each participant was given an original Rubik's Cube, then there was a scrambler who scrambled every cube into a specific pattern, then participants were given 3 tries each to solve the cubes in the shortest time possible under the ~~fascinated mouth-opening~~ staring of dozens of spectators.

After the competition and prize-giving, there were refreshment a.k.a food and drinks for participants, their family and organizing committee AND sponsors representatives AND, of course, P.R.E.S.S.

And then BALIK!!!!! muahhahahahaha

On the other hand, here's a headline news you people might be interested in. It's concerning Europe though.

The European Union commissioners have announced that agreement has been reached to adopt English as the preferred language for European communications, rather than German, which was the other possibility. As part of the negotiations, Her Majesty's Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a five-year phased plan for what will be known as EuroEnglish (Euro for short). In the first year, "s" will be used instead of the soft "c". Sertainly, sivil servants will resieve this news with joy. Also, the hard "c" will be replaced with "k." Not only will this klear up konfusion, but typewriters kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the troublesome "ph" will be replaced by "f". This will make words like "fotograf" 20 per sent shorter.

In the third year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible. Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling. Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of silent "e"s in the languag is disgrasful, and they would go.

By the fourth year, peopl wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th" by "z" and "W" by "V". During ze fifz year, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining "ou", and similar changes vud of kors; be aplid to ozer kombinations of leters. While cruising at 40,000 feet, the Boeing747 shuddered and Pak Hamid looked out the window.

"Astaghfirulahalazim!!" he screamed, "sebuting engine meletup!!"

Other passengers left their seats and came running over to see it for themselves; suddenly the aircraft was rocked by a second blast as yet another engine exploded on the other side.

The passengers were in a panic now, and even the stewardesses couldn't maintain order. Just then, standing tall and smiling confidently, the captain pilot strode from the cockpit and said "Penumpang sekalian, sila dimaklumi behawa tiada apa-apa yang perlu dirisaukan. Segala keadaan berada dalam kawalan."

His words and his demeanour seemed so calm and in control that it made most of the passengers feel better, and they sat down as the captain calmly walked to the door of the aeroplane. There, he grabbed several packages from under the seats and began handing them to the flight attendants.

Each crew member attached the package to their backs.

"Excuse me captain," spoke up an alert young passenger, "atu bukan parachute kan?"

The captain said they were.

The passenger went on, "Tapi kau bukan cakap tak payah risau apapa kan?"

"Betul, tuan," replied the captain as a third engine exploded. "Kami akan pergi mendapatkan bantuan sekarang."

There was this Indon who was driving a trailer along Lebuh Raya Happy (not the real name).

Suddenly he saw a sign that reads "Jambatan Rendah Di Depan". Before he knew it, a bridge lower than the top of the container trailed behind was in front and he got stuck under the bridge.

In minutes, a line of cars had jammed behind like a train.

Finally, a police car came up. The policeman got out of his car and walks around to the Indon, put his hands on his hips and said, "Terstuck eh? Inda pandai baca sign kah?"

The Indon quickly said, "Bukan tuan. Boss saya suruh antar jambatan ini tapi minyak abis."

Almost 3 days no update oh! I bet you guys miss me like hell now :p

Here's what happened these 3 days that occupied my time lol (pst! It involved staying in front of the monitor for hours like no life xP)

A few days ago I was chosen to be one of the beta tester for EA new game that has not been released yet, so I downloaded the beta version and started playing and have to keep switching between the game and Firefox to report any bugs, possible improvements, etc etc. Ok crap aside, the game is called BattleForge. Here's the website.

BattleForge combine elements of Trading Card Game and Mass Unit Real-Time Strategy.

Spells are played from cards on the battlefield.

And units summoned onto battlefield by playing cards too!

Ah Beng and Ah Huat were driving along a street in different directions. Out of some unfortunate mishap, the cars slammed into each other head-on. The two men were able to get out of their cars without any serious injury, but the cars were totaled.

Before Ah Huat could say anything, Ah Beng said, "Instead of arguing over whose fault it was, why don't we just celebrate that we were able to come out alive?"

Ah Huat said, "Yeah, good idea!"

"I have a bottle of whisky in the trunk just brought in from Limbang, why don't I pull that out?" suggested Ah Beng. He went around, and luckily the bottle was not damaged in the accident. He gave it to Ah Huat and said, "Here, drink some!"

Ah Huat took the bottle and chugged half of it down. Then he wiped his mouth and handed the bottle over to Ah Beng, "Here, you have some!"

Ah Beng then passed it back and said, "Nah, I think I'll wait until the police get here."

Hey ya'll!

Apada?????!!!!!!

Today is the start of the 3 days 6th BIMP-EAGA Friendship Games hosted by Brunei. BIMP stands for *Brunei*, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines. EAGA stands for East Asia Growth Area. Obviously, competitors came from these 4 countries to participates in a 7 games such as track and field events, swimming, karatedo, silat, badminton and so on, including the new diving events. It was unfortunate that I missed the opening ceremony T.T

Anyway, I do know what happened at the swimming pool though lol. So I would like to emphasize a few things here:

1) Congratz to Haazim, Afi, Rahman and Hafiz for winningin the diving events! You guys, I mean boys, made Brunei and Bruneians proud!! =D=D=D Seriously, these less-than-10-years-old boys can jump from 10 metres high tower! How many ADULTS do you know that dare to do that? :p (no offence)
2) Congratz to our Olympian Maria Grace Koh for winning in the swimming events.
3) There were 2 technical errors just now. In both incidents, the starting alarm sounded and swimmers plunged into the pool but THE TIMERS WON'T START!!! I have a bad feeling participating teams from the other countries are soooooo gonna complain :S
4) Why were the AUSTRALIANS doing in the games? They aren't even supposed to be involved! Well except in the working committees maybe.

Well, it was a great sunny day overall. Things did went smoothly. Coach Cheng Wei of the Brunei Diving Team ought to be proud now :p

And then, I had lunch at a vegetarian restaurant call Pureland Vegetarian. It was a great restaurant even for non-vegetarians. The food isn't necessary vegetables. Many people made the mistake of thinking so. It also include meats made from fibre, fruits, soya beans, noodle (fried with vegetable oil, of course), rice, spaghetti with spices and no-meat sauce, french fries xD, salad, etc etc. Many people also mistakenly thought that the place, as it's primarily visited by non-Muslims (Chinese, Indian, Filipino, Indonesian, Westerners), is non-Halal. That's incorrect. The food sold at the place is Halal, as there is no meat. The most interesting thing about the place is the fact that visitors can pay as much as they want. I asked the owners and indeed unsurprisingly, the place is making losses. Well, at least they contributed to the society :p

Lack of Sleep

Sorry for the lack of update today. I was sick. In fact, I blacked out in the morning, collapsed and hurt myself. When I woke up, I was bleeding. So I counted the cuts: 1) hip, 2) wrist, 3) arm, 4) knee. Terrible. Why did I black out?? lack of sleep.

Did you know that lack of sleep not only cause syncope (that's the posh scientific name for 'fainting') but also cause DIABETES :S, OBESITY 0.o, growth hampering, reduced capability of brain and another list full of low-chances effect such as TUMOUR, PARALYZATION, etc etc. (information from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia that isn't necessary always right :p)

Anyway, after my experience today, I swear I will sleep my 8 hours per day, seriously. You should do the same too.

B2C Day at Maktab Sains

Today's B2C Day at Maktab Sains. B2C stands for Bio-BASE Chapter. It's a young organization in Brunei which dedicate itself to the study of science. The B2C Day Program exposed students to the fun and excitement of science. It has 6 booths, each related to certain field in science. Participating students are divided into 2 sessions, namely the first session from 8am-10am session and the 10am-12pm session. The program starts at 8am. Approaching 8am, students from other schools came to register. Oh oh before I forget, I was a facilitator guiding the participants' teams xD Oh and, for your information, the Day was organized and worked by members of Bio-BASE Chapter Club Maktab Sains and volunteers from the college itself.

The program started with the doa, then a speech from the head of Bio-BASE Chapter Club Maktab Sains - Cikgu Fatimah.

Booth 1 - Electronic Craze

In this booth, teammates need to work together to attempt to connect wires and complete circuits. The desired results were beeping sounds, flashing lights, light dimmer and so on.

Booth 2: Stepping into Science

This booth is seperated into 3 parts. It is related to Chemistry and Biology.

The food tests part where participants learn about how food are tested.. (melamine? xP)

The oil part. In this part, students coat their fingers with oil similar to those found in whales, then dip them into COLD water. I tried it out, and WoW! my fingers didn't go numb!!! haha. The oil insulated my finger from the coldness, just like whale in freezing oceans ;-)

Booth 3: Dieticians

This is a very interesting booth. It's the classic what-to-eat-and-what-not-to, but still, participants liked it.

I was sure mine would be "EAT LESS!! EXERCISE!!" pfft.

Booth 4: Eco-museum

Oh man I like this booth. First of all, they let me win lots of sweets. Then there was an fascinating exhibition. Take a look at these pictures if you don't believe me.

Booth 5: Webinar

I bet they are just trying to show off their technologies. Basically, the organizers enlisted some help from UK, and the aides from UK communicate with participants through internet and webcam. Cool eh? (P.S: what did you guys use for the internet? Use Go! Broadband! xD)

Booth 6: CSI

In this activity booth, participants work alone. They need to watch a short episode of a CSI case, then answer some questions that help and lead to solving of the case.

Some of the questions I managed to gather were:
1) What was found in the volcano model?
2) The plier belonging to [Forgot the name lol] was a match to the one found at?
3) What is the cause of of [Forgot the name again]'s death?

This morning, I went to my school Maktab Sains. The class lists for Maktab Sains 2009 are OUT. It's posted on the noticeboard at the concourse. So yeah, Maktab Sainsians, go check it out!!!

Oh and today, there is also a clay sculpture painting competition at the canteen of MS just now. Plus, the form 4 Sprint Math competition was held by the Math Department. P.S: I am one of the beta tester for the challenges xP I still have no idea who won the competition though. Hehe...

Anyway, after going to school, my mother, my sister, Doreen form 3 and I went to have lunch at Rejoice Chicken Rice Restaurant (RCR?). It's at kiulap. You guys should try it there too one day. The food is great and rich in variety. What's more? It's HALAL! lol. Well, as the name of the place suggested, chicken rice is the trademark dish, so yeah, we had chicken rices xD

There is one thing bad about the food though. It's high in haji-without-bike (haji-no-motor, ajinomoto, geddit?) a.k.a MSG (Monosodium Glutimate). It's so much and so concentrated in the food. Pro: It makes the food delicious. Cons: It's bad for your health.

And then, as the Kiulap Hua Ho was just across a street, we walked there for some touching-touching, seeing-seeing, price-asking-asking, and hopefully buying-buying ;P It's the mood of most shopping centre before a big grand sale. December is almost here dudes! I can smell the shopping sprees of End-of-year big sale being held back by impatience haha.

I love you dad<33333 hehe.. for bring sister and I out to Giant and Batu Bersurat just now in the new car xD Thanks God I remembered to take some pictures of the new car so you all can see ;-)

Hey you guys, if you read this, I am sorry for being late k?

Drawing near school holiday, that cybercafe was, unsurprisingly almost full. One can hear people laughing like evil santa claus when someone died, people shouting "c*ba*~!!!!!" when they lost, and the sound of "run run!", "don't kill meeeeee!!!" and other such yellings.

Anyway, today's games were mostly good games. They brought the spirit of cybersport back into me. Talking about cybersport, Brunei's teenagers are more and more interested in cybersport. No doubt we can produce international players one day :D:D Today I also discovered I am quite a good cyberathlete myself :p lol puji sendiri.

Ade nini ani wah, ia bawa cucunya yang barumur 4 taun ke pantai muara. Cucunya tu nampak aing laut pun start main lah.skali ada ombak basar ni datang wah. cucunya tu pasal damit dan ringan pun di telan ombak tu ditariknya ke dalam laut.

Masa ni nini tu pun nampak apa yang belaku lalu ia menjerit-jerit menyumpah laut tu. Apabila ia meliat sumpahnya tu tak buat apapa, ia pun mendoa kepada tuhan supaya membalikkan cucunya tu.

Suddenly ada ombak yang lagi basar datang. Ditolaknya ombak tadi tu balik ke pantai. Cucu tu pun successfully escape mati lah. Ia diumban ombak tu ke pasir pantai. Nini tu pun laju-laju lari ke cucunya tu lalu dipeluk-peluknya sambil mengangis.

Tiba-tiba nini behenti menangis lalu menginspect cucunya tu. Selepas tu ia pun memandang ke langit lalu menjerit: "Oi tuhan! Mana kasutnya?"

Ade seorang lelaki ni wah. One day ia berdriving alone. Suddenly ada suara becakap "Turn left yo!" Tekejutlah lelaki ani. menchecknya dalaman keretanya nada orang, radio pun inda babuka, so pikirnya tuhan yang cakap samanya. So ia pun turn left on the next junction.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Stop in front of the casino." Di liat-liat sekelilingnya lelaki tu. Finally ia mendapati ada sebuah casino behampiran. Ia pun stop di depan casino tu.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Sell your car to the door guard for $300000." Lelaki tu pikir impossible pasal keretanya tu Vios, tak sampai $30000 pun valuenya, tapi ditanya jua ia sama ada door guard tu mau beli keretanya. Alangkah tekejut apabila doorguard tu mau beli for $300000 lalu bagi cash.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Go to the blackjack table and bet the whole $300000 in one hand." Although lelaki tu tau ani gila, tapi ia buat jua kerana it percaya suara tu ialah tuhan dan tuhan sedang menolongnya. Selepas membet, ia pun diberi 2 card, sebuting 10 dan sebuting 7.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Hit". Lelaki tu pun meminta hit. Diberinya card Ace, skarang 18 total.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Hit". Lelaki tu pun meminta hit sekali lagi dengan confident. Diberinya sekali lagi Ace, skarang 19 total.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Hit". Lelaki tu pun meminta hit sekali lagi, tapi makin nervousnya. gembiralah ia apabila ia diberi Ace skali lagi, skarang 20 total. Skarang smua urang diskeliling pun datang bakumpul menyaksi penjudian yang buat heart attack ani.

Suddenly suara tu becakap lagi "Hit". Lelaki tu start to doubt it. Udah 3 Ace dikluarkan, tinggal 1 saja ah. Untuk ambil that last Ace probabilitynya 1/45 ah. Payah tu yo. Smua urang yang menyaksi tu menasihat lelaki tu untuk stay. Tapi lelaki tu in the end mandengar suara yang ia percaya adalah tuhan tu. Ia pun meminta hit. Dealer tu baginya sekeping card, dibuka lalu mandapati card tu ialah..... ACE! 21!!!! Lelaki tu menang! Smua urang sana jadi dumbfounded tarus. Dealer tu ucap "Holy shit! I can't believe it!"Urang skeliling pun cakap "Holy shit! I can't believe it!" Lelaki tu pun kata "Holy shit! I can't believe it!"

Birthday Party at Beribi

Yesterday night, 3 girls celebrated their 17th birthday: Farina, Umniyah and Hazimah. They turned 17 on 13th Oct, 17th Oct and 17th Nov respectively. Tpinya, O level masa tu., so they celebrate now lah.

The party was at Beribi starting from 7pm, although I reached there at 8.15 hehe

Like any typical birthday party in Brunei, there are barbeques, food and drinks duh. There are also, of course, bouncers.

3 person's birthday. Kesian tu eh beli presents. Yang mee bagi are self-made :P

Sampai party, first thing to do after giving presents is of course MAKAN! Turned out their classmates are VIP, makan in the house. Bergurau-gurau sambil makan lah. Very friendly lah. Macam haji jual topi. Then lepas tu cut cakes! 3 people share 2 cakes. Ada ice-cream cake which is totally ice-cream and no cake, and ada chocolate cake too. Both nyaman lah. Hampir tak cukup though. Not everyone got their fair share, but hey! This is life! xP

Then play bouncers. Sexes switched roles. The girls jump in main tarus. The guys malu-malu. Half a dozen boys spent half an hour changing into 3-quarters pants while I kept shouting "Apadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa?????????!!!!!!!!!!!!" In the end main lah. There was a Jazmi who are traumatic. In the end he played too. Who would wanna miss out on the fun of bouncer huh? Not even my nini man!

Miracles happen once in a while: There are food and drinks left this time.

Main-main tak liat masa, soon it's 10.30pm. I stopped playing and showered. Then the classmates wait for cars. Soon one-one return house. When my car was there, I return house juga lah. There are still people bouncing on bouncers at that time though.

Residential Constuction Industy in Brunei

In the old days, the residential constuction industry in Brunei focused mainly on large detacted houses on large pieces of land. In a few decades, things had changed, as land became less and less available hence more and more valuable. Companies are now concentrating on cheaper option houses such as terraces, semi-detacheds and apartments.

However, one thing remains almost the same now as many years ago, and that is how those houses are built, even with the advancements in technology.

Yesterday, around 5pm, I went to a large piece of land (almost 17 acres) in Subok to observe personally the happenings at a typical construction site for residential properties.

Here's some photos I took:

Excavator is a mandatory machinery on most construction sites...unless you don't mind moving tons of soil and sand with your shovel.
Rate: 1 'scoop' of an excavator = 120 capacity of shovel (approx.)
Don't even thing about cangkul!!!

This excavator was ran by a veteran on the field of construction.

Yet MORE diggings to do...

And with the hole digged, it's time to lay the pipes that will one day in the future carry valuable water that will sustain the lifes of fellow members of the neighbourhood.
These white pipes are made of plastic so they will not rust, corrode nor decompose.

Anyway, I had also managed to asked for a little information from the man operating the excavator (not me! The veteran). The main part of the 'interview' are as follow. It was in Mandarin and I had did the translation:

Mee: 你在这行有多久了? 为什么你要进入这行?
How long have you been on this field? Why did you want to enter this field?

Veteran (not real name): 大概二十年? 我想有吧。当初我对这一行有兴趣, 就开始在这行工作。
Around 20 years? I think so. At first I am interested in this field, so (I) started working in this field.

Mee: 你这工作每天要做多久? 能赚多少钱啊?
How long do you have to work everyday for your job? How much can it earn?

Veteran: 很多个小时。除了假期, 每天都早上八点开工, 晚上六点才回家。
Many hours. Except holidays, everyday morning eight o'clock start work, night time six o'clock go home.

Mee: 从你的想法，这工作好吗？你回建议给别人参如吗？
From your opinion, is this job good? Would you recommend it for other people to join?

Veteran: 那看个人的本性, 兴趣跟爱好。这工作是个很辛苦和劳累的工作, 整天还要在天地下晒太阳。对认真的要进入这事业的人, 我当然会建议。
That depends on individual's characteristics, interests and hobbies. This job is a very hard and tiring job, and has to be under the sun for the whole day. Of course for people who really seriously want to enter this career, I will recommend them in.

Mee: 那样啊? 如果这有观众在看或听, 你会跟他们说什么?
Like that ah? If there are audiences who are watching or listening, what would you say to them?

Veteran: 你是报纸派来的吗? 我没什么好讲的。
Are you sent by the newspaper? I have nothing to say.

That's it. The rest are not relevant informations. As you saw in the picture above, I was given the chance to play with the excavator for a while. It was a great learning experience. The two short 'sticks' in middle controls either sides of the caterpillar tracks. The long 'sticks' controls the rotation of the turret and the movement of the arm. Two pedals on the floor control the bucket! :D

I may have a chance to try it out again one day. Let's hope it comes soon :D
